Local Alumnae: You’re invited to join the Networking Angels and our Student-Alumnae Association, the 1891 Club, for a special networking dinner. Come share your story with current students. You may just meet a future intern or employee like alumna Crystal Whitley Lester ’03, did last year. The following is an excerpt from the recommendation letter she wrote for the 1891 Club member.
“It was during my first meeting with Savannah at a dinner between the 1891 club (a student alumnae organization) and the Networking Angels (a Meredith alumnae networking organization) that I noticed her tenacity, poise, and passion and knew that she would be a great fit to work with the Meredith Autism Program. She arrived to our first meeting ready to inquire about the program and develop an action plan for the events.
Savannah was tasked with securing vendors, collecting silent auction items, communicating with the media, event design and decor, and the coordination of volunteers. She was prompt, thorough, and always delivered. She carried herself as a professional throughout the entire process, and as any good event planner: assured her client that everything would go off without a hitch. On the day of the event, Savannah executed her event plan flawlessly by communicating the catering staff and events department at Meredith College, and led her group of volunteers valiantly. I, along with my cohorts, was allowed to attend the event and mingle with the guests; never once having to worry or wonder if something was not being taken care of. I have been extremely pleased with Savannah – she exceeded all of my expectations of her role as student intern.”
If you would like to meet outstanding students like Savannah, please join us on February 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Wainwright Suites below Belk Dining Hall. The cost is $15 per alumna, and dinner will be served. Please register online at https://community.meredith.edu/networking-angels or by phone at 919-760-8714 by Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
