The Admissions Office needs your help!

Greetings from the Office of Admissions,

I hope your summer is off to a great start!  We are certainly staying busy this summer preparing for new freshmen to arrive in August and starting to think about travel and high school visits this fall.  The Admissions Office needs your help to recruit the next class of Meredith Angels!

I recently conducted a college fair updates training during Alumnae Reunion Weekend in May with several local and out-of-state alumnae.  This training gave alumnae an opportunity to ask questions about college fairs and what their role will be at a fair.  If you were not able to attend the training and would like to receive information about college fairs, please e-mail me at buryka1@meredith.edu.  Our admission counselors will be gearing up for fall travel soon, attending college fairs, and scheduling local and out-of-state high school visits, and we need your help!

If there are any out-of-state alumnae who were athletes at Meredith College, please e-mail me.  We’d love to connect you with prospective athletes.  Our lacrosse team won the conference for the first time this year and received a bid to the NCAA tournament.  The program has only been in existence for two years.  We are proud of these women for all of their accomplishments and hard work!

One of the recruitment goals in the Admissions Office is to increase out-of-state applications.  We will be targeting specific out-of-state markets and contacting alumnae in those areas to reach out to prospective students.  More to come on this initiative, but we are looking forward to utilizing more out-of-state alumnae to help recruit students.

Lastly, don’t forget to use the online referral form to refer a student.  The link for the form is http://www.meredith.edu/alumnae/refer-a-student.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about ARMS.  I wish each of you a relaxing summer!

Sincerely,

Alumna Referral – Refer a Student

Greetings from the Office of Admissions!

The Office of Admissions would like to utilize alumnae to identify and encourage prospective students to apply to Meredith.  The alumna referral process is for alumnae to identify prospective students who would be a good fit for Meredith.  A student’s application fee will be waived once she is referred by an alumna.  We hope this process will generate more applications and encourage students to visit campus.  Alumnae can access the referral form by visiting www.meredith.edu/alumnae and clicking on the “Refer a Student” link.  Once an alumna submits the form, the Admissions and Alumnae Offices will receive the referral form.  The Admissions Office will keep a record of the form in hopes that the student will apply to Meredith.  If you know a student who would be a great fit for Meredith, please visit this website to complete the referral form!  Please don’t hesitate to contact Anna Buryk if you have any questions.  Thank you for continued support of the ARMS program and for referring potential Meredith Angels!

Have a wonderful holiday season!

ARMS Update

Greetings from the Office of Admissions!  It has been a busy, but productive fall semester so far in our office.  Alumnae assisted our recruiters at local and out-of-state college fairs in their territories.  Recently, alumnae brought prospective students to Discover Meredith on October 19 and also e-mailed prospective students last week during our Fall Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week.  Thank you to all the alumnae who have volunteered so far!

Discover Meredith

Alumnae brought 48 students to campus on Saturday, October 19th which was coordinated by the Admissions Office and Hilary Allen and her staff in the Alumnae Office.  The day was filled with excitement and buzz as alumnae brought prospective students to campus!  Current students from each class shared some of their favorite Meredith memorabilia with students and alumnae during the student showcase. Dr. Allen welcomed guests to campus before sending them on a campus traditions tour to learn about some of Meredith’s treasured traditions.  Current students and recent alumnae shared their Meredith experiences and answered questions about campus and academic life during the panel discussion. The day concluded with lunch in Belk Dining Hall with remarks from Andrea Oakley-Fox, Meredith College Alumnae Association President, and Dr. Jackson, VP of College Programs.  We hope these students will return to campus for another event or will schedule an individual campus visit to learn more about Meredith!

Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week

The Fall Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week took place October 28 – November 1.  Alumnae e-mailed prospective high school seniors who had yet to submit their application.  The alumnae shared their Meredith experiences, to include the strength and rigor of our academic programs, and how Meredith helped them reach their personal and professional goals.  Alumnae encouraged students to apply online, schedule an individual campus visit, or attend our last Think Meredith Open House for High School Seniors in January.  Many alumnae have already received positive responses from students who are working on their application!

Alumna Referral

The Office of Admissions would like to utilize alumnae to identify and encourage prospective students to apply to Meredith.  This alumna referral process is for alumnae to identify prospective students who would be a good fit for Meredith.  A student’s application fee will be waived once she is referred by an alumna.  We hope this alumna referral process will generate more applications and encourage students to visit campus.  The form will be created and up on the web in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for updates!

This special event allows alumnae to bring a prospective student to campus for a day that includes remarks from Dr. Jo Allen ’80, a campus traditions tour, an alumnae/student panel and concludes with a luncheon. ARMS update — Alumnae Recruitment of Meredith Students

Greetings from the Office of Admissions!

I hope all of you are having a relaxing summer.  I can’t believe it’s July already!  I wanted to provide an update for alumnae and share some initiatives for the fall semester.  During Alumnae Reunion Weekend in May, I conducted a training session for several alumnae who are interested in assisting our admissions counselors at college fairs this travel season.  These alumnae were trained and educated about college fairs, what to expect at the fairs, and how to best engage with students they meet.  Our admissions counselors will be hitting the road soon to recruit for the next class and we are excited for the opportunity to utilize our alumnae in our recruitment efforts!

Discover Meredith, a day for alumnae to bring prospective students to campus, will be held on Saturday, October 19.  Stay tuned for more information!

A “Fall Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week” will also take place this fall where alumnae will contact prospective students in targeted areas in order to build our applicant pool for next year.

I will be posting a link to the college fair training video soon, so if you are interested in training for college fairs and helping recruit prospective students, please e-mail me at arms@meredith.edu and I would be happy to send you the link.

Stay tuned for more updated information throughout the summer and fall semester.  Again, thank you for all of your efforts in recruiting these women to Meredith!
